Alice Straker is a British artist who creates vibrant, thickly textured oil paintings of food and drink. Her work is steeped in nostalgia, often heroizing her favorite childhood dishes, such as chocolate eclairs or ice cream, with the intention of elevating the everyday. Her paintings have a delicious three-dimensional quality -  you almost want to eat them off the walls! Her color palette is rooted in color theory and frequently features contrasting colors to enhance her subjects. Alice draws inspiration from her family’s love of cooking - her twin brother, Thomas Straker, is a chef - and from her degree in Art History.
