In recent years, Nel has drawn more broadly from nature as her source of inspiration, which has led to a shift in the style of her work. For her, photography is not about capturing reality but about conveying the experience, feeling, and impression. Composition, light, and color are key themes in her photos. Nel creates her own little world through techniques such as multiple exposure and Intentional Camera Movement (ICM).
